　　邓小平思路清晰，谈兴甚浓。他说，改革从农村起步，刚开始时有些同志想不通，存有疑虑，有的人还害怕是资本主义。但我们，既不给他们戴帽子，也不搞批判，做出成绩让他们看。后来认识逐步统一了，几年就都执行了。那时安徽有一个搞“傻子瓜子”的，收入上百万元，许多人反应强烈，主张动他。我说动不得。这不是一个人的问题，涉及到一个面，牵一发而动全身。所以，改革开放政策要稳定，不能变。1984年以来的几年，经济上得快，是一个跳跃。农民收入多了，电器也进了农户，农村盖了许多新房。要看到这个作用，没有这个跳跃，治理整顿不会这么顺利。

　　邓小平语重心长地强调，稳定发展我赞成。但是，只要能快一点还是要争取快一点。胆子要更大一点，放得更一开一点。不能胆子没有了，雄心壮志也没有了。有机遇能跳还是要跳。

　　沧桑几十载，弹指一挥间。1992年，距邓小平离开中央苏区已经有了半个多世纪，然而，在邓小平的记忆中，当年苏区的斗争风云依然历历在目，苏区的干部、群众和一草一木都牵动着他的心。
　　是的，邓小平对江西很有感情，这一点，江西人民有深刻的感受。1991年9月，是中央革命根据地创建和中华苏维埃共和国临时中央政府成立60周年，他应江西省委、省政府这请，欣然命笔，书写了“纪念中央革命根据地创建六十周年”的题词，缅怀中国革命的光辉历史，对江西人民寄予厚望。
　　鹰潭是江西东部一个新兴的城市，这是解放后邓小平第三次来到这个这里了：
　　1973年2月19日，邓小平赴京复出工作，就是从南昌乘车来到鹰潭，次日转乘福州至北京的特快列车，离开江西到北京的。
　　1985年2月14日，邓小平偕同王震乘火车去广州视察，途中曾在鹰潭车站停留。
