對於工聯會黃國健指部分學者因為不太了解香港的情況，才會發表如此言論，余若薇認為若黃國健對此事不了解「就唔好噏」。她表示，以往有不少政治問題也是由內地學者「打頭陣」，故常出現「數大護法」稱呼。
余若薇指，內地一些有勢力及背景的學者對香港事務發表意見，其目的往往是向香港人「放話」，但他們背後的身份並不只是學者，而是背負著一些政治任務，向香港市民表達中央政府對某些議題的看法。早前的政改論壇，身兼基本法委員會委員、北大法學院教授饒戈平來港後，政務司司長林鄭月娥隨即發表「一錘定音」論就是最好的例子。
港人應提防「習慣成自然」
余若薇認為本地法律學者及大律師公會亦應該清晰地重申，香港的法庭是以證據及案情作出量刑，而並非受到任何政治的信息影響，以避免往後有類似情形發生及對市民作出一定程度上的警惕。她補充，若市民覺得這些干預沒有問題，當往後法庭對集會及示威的行動作出判決，內地學者便會藉機會評論法庭的判刑，這會令香港的司法制度不成體統；市民亦會「習慣成自然」，猶如溫水煮蛙般，「煮煮下熟咗」。
余若薇呼籲市民堅持為不公義事情發聲，例如透過電台節目等途徑發聲捍衞「一國兩制」，因為「如果我哋唔出聲，（中央）條界會愈踩愈過」。她補充，現時很多人會將法治縮窄至公共秩序的層面。事實上，公共秩序只是法治一部分，「佔領中環」當中不少元素是合法的，並非完全是違法行為，例如為「佔領中環」的參與者提供義務法律服務、醫療服務、物資補給及文宣工作等。
